Once again, we’re sorry to have to come bearing bad news regarding fake Netflix dates. Today we’re having to debunk the fact that Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is not scheduled to be returning for a second season in November 2021 as you may have seen around the web.
Really quick context before we dig in. Gilmore Girls is the popular teen drama series that aired on The WB throughout the 2000s. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was the new rebooted series that was released in November 2016.
This isn’t the first time we’ve had to report about a second season of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life not coming to Netflix. Last year, we had the exact same thing with yet another spam site that was reporting the lie that a new season was on the way that November. In addition, IMDb also had new episodes listed for the shows reboot that had a 2020 release date attached.
This time, the website in question is WhenNetflix.com which is a website set up with nearly every Netflix Original listed guestimating when new seasons of a show will come. In this instance, it’s saying that season 2 of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is coming to Netflix on November 19th, 2021.
The page is being shared on the likes of Twitter, Facebook, and even TikTok.
So the reality is that there isn’t currently a Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life planned for November 2021 nor is there one planned for the future either.
We’ve covered a couple of WhenNetflix’s pages recently because of the traction it seems to be getting online. Its traffic has grown in recent months averaging between 600 and 900 thousand visits a month. The first major false date we saw getting traction online was Longmire returning for season 7 and Voltron also returning. Both, of course, are not true.

So will the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ever return given the newly rebooted series does end on a cliffhanger?
Amy Sherman-Palladino spoke to Vanity Fair in 2018 about any continuation saying:
“It’s still a possibility. Everyone has been very busy. Alexis [Bledel] clearly is very busy! It would have to be the right story, and the right moment. A lot went into getting it together the first time.”
